These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BillSwipe mobile application and any related services (collectively, the “App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement to use BillSwipe. By using the App, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. Description of the Service
BillSwipe is an informational application that allows users to browse, review, save, and interact with proposed and enacted United States legislation through an interactive, swipe-based interface.
The App aggregates legislative information from publicly available and third-party sources and presents it in a simplified format for informational and educational purposes only.
3. Informational Use Only — No Advice
BillSwipe does not provide legal advice, political advice, advocacy, or professional services.
Nothing in the App should be relied upon as:
- legal guidance
- an official interpretation of any law or bill
- a recommendation to support or oppose legislation
You are solely responsible for verifying legislative information through official government sources.
4. No Government Affiliation
BillSwipe is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any federal, state, or local government entity or legislative body.
5. Neutrality & Presentation Disclaimer
BillSwipe is designed to be strictly neutral.
- The order or presentation of bills does not imply importance, endorsement, or opposition
- User actions (swipes, saves, likes, shares) reflect personal interaction only
- The swipe-based interface is a design choice and does not influence political opinions
Users are responsible for their own interpretations and conclusions.
6. Legislative Data & Accuracy Disclaimer
Legislative information may be incomplete, delayed, summarized, or amended after publication.
BillSwipe makes no guarantees regarding accuracy, completeness, or timeliness.
7. Automated Tools & Future AI Use
BillSwipe may now or in the future use automated tools or artificial intelligence to summarize, categorize, or present legislative information.
Automated content may:
- omit details
- simplify complex provisions
- contain errors
Such content is non-authoritative and must be independently verified.
8. Push Notifications
BillSwipe may send push notifications related to legislation or App activity.
- Notifications are optional and user-controlled
- Delivery, timing, and accuracy are not guaranteed
- BillSwipe has no duty to notify users of legislative changes
9. User Accounts
Creating an account is required to access certain features.
You are responsible for:
- safeguarding your login credentials
- all activity under your account
Users may delete their accounts at any time through the App.
10. User Conduct & Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- misuse or interfere with the App
- scrape or automate access
- misrepresent legislative content as official
- use the App for unlawful or harmful purposes
BillSwipe may suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion.
11. User-Generated Content
Users may submit content such as comments, notes, or interactions.
By submitting content, you grant BillSwipe a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and moderate that content in connection with the App.
BillSwipe does not endorse user content and may remove it at any time.
12. Intellectual Property
All App content, branding, design, and functionality are owned by BillSwipe or its licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial use.
13. Monetization, Subscriptions & Paid Features
BillSwipe may include advertisements, subscriptions, or paid features now or in the future.
- Pricing and terms will be disclosed at the point of purchase
- All payments are subject to applicable app store policies
- BillSwipe may modify or discontinue paid features at any time
14. Third-Party Services
The App may link to third-party websites or services. BillSwipe is not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, or practices.
15. Availability & Modifications
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” BillSwipe may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or access at any time.
16. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BillSwipe disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
17. Limitation of Liability
BillSwipe shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the App.
Your sole remedy is to stop using the App.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BillSwipe from claims arising from your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
19. Arbitration & Class Action Waiver
a. Binding Arbitration
Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, not court litigation.
b. Class Action Waiver
Claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class or collective action.
c. Opt-Out Right
You may opt out by emailing info@billswipe.io within 30 days of account creation.
Opting out does not affect App access and applies only to dispute resolution.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
21. Apple and Google App Store Disclosure
These Terms are between you and BillSwipe, not Apple or Google. Neither Apple nor Google is responsible for the App, its content, or related claims.
22. Changes to These Terms
BillSwipe may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
